One of the most common causes of damage to electronic equipment in households, commercial applications, and industry is an interruption of the neutral conductor. If the line conductors are loaded asymmetrically, this results in a neutral point shift, which in turn causes overvoltage. Consequently, connected electronically controlled devices are often destroyed and, in the worst case, fires may occur.

Residual current protection expert Doepke now presents the right solution: the new residual current circuit-breakers (DFS) and main switches (DHS) with the NU suffix protect modern electronic equipment against overvoltage caused by neutral point shift. Here, NU stands for mains conductor monitoring (from the German term “Netzleiterüberwachung”).

DFS 6 NU and DHS 6 NU monitor all line conductors and the neutral conductor on the supply side. If an interruption is detected, the device trips – reliably protecting, for example, routers, TVs, induction hobs, smart home devices or electronic machine controls.

The DHS 6 NUS provides extended protection. Using a sensor, it monitors not only the neutral conductor on the supply side but also the neutral rail within the distribution board – for comprehensive protection of property.
